IUI is otherwise called Artificial Insemination done for Male Infertility. It is performed by separating motile sperms and injecting them in the woman’s uterus during the period of ovulation using a small catheter.
Who needs IUI Treatment?
IUI Treatment is ideal for men with ejaculation problems, low sperm count, and motility, inability to have sex for any reasons, and those with genital problems.
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) Procedure
Semen sample is obtained from men either during ejaculation or by masturbation collected in a sterile cup that is washed and the sperms are separated from the seminal fluid. Motile and concentrated sperms are injected into the woman’s uterus. This method enhances plenty of sperms to run towards the uterus and increases the possibilities of conception. IUI does not have any huge discomfort and takes very limited time to complete the procedure.
Once the IUI procedure is over, the woman will be carefully monitored by the physicians for pregnancy symptoms. Mostly, IUI is integrated with ovarian stimulating drugs to produce a large number of eggs which is a core factor for improving the chances of pregnancy.
