Established in the year 1960, Rao Hospital was commissioned by major Dr Rao who was a doyen among surgeons.. Three Decades ago the Hospital inclined towards offering specialized treatment for infertility, assisted reproductive technology and gynecological endoscopy to the patients, and thus was born the Centre for Assisted Reproduction and Endoscopy (C.A.R.E).We also have an efficient pediatric unit and a neonatal ICU which ensures that the mothers take home healthy babies. Additionally, it is a Govt, recognized centre for family planning, Gynec Endoscopy training centre for Doctors and Basic & advanced infertility training centre, which has received recognition from FOGSI (Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India) and Dr. MGR University, Tamil Nadu , India. For the past four generations, have been actively involved in serving the community as medical professionals in Rao Hospital. The hospital has dedicated workforce comprising of doctors, efficient surgeons, nurses & paramedical staff, which is available 24 hrs to attend any emergencies. Our primary focus is on imparting specialized endoscopy, gynecology, general surgery for men & women, pediatric care and infertility treatments. Dr. S. R. Rao is one of the pioneers in laprascopic surgery in Tamil Nadu and the first laparoscopy was done at Rao hospital in the year 1977. He was trained at Brussels & Germany in Laparoscopy and has carried out thousands of laparoscopic surgeries. His special interests are Video Laparoscopy, Hysteroscopic surgery, Male infertility and General surgery. He is the Director of the CENTRE FOR ASSISTED REPRODUCTION & ENDOSCOPY at Rao Hospital. |

Dr. Asha R. Rao has been serving the community and successfully treated many infertile couples since 1986. A recipient of the President of India Gold Medal and a Post Graduate in Gynecology from Stanley Medical College, she started working towards establishing an IVF center with state-of-the-art facilities. She trained at London & Brussels under world renowned experts. She heads the Infertility clinic, the ART unit at the CENTRE FOR ASSISTED REPRODUCTION & ENDOSCOPY and the High risk pregnancy care unit at Rao Hospital. |
